🛡️ Where is my data stored?
By default, 100% of your data (exam timelines, tasks, study history, and streaks) is stored in a local database on your own device (IndexedDB for web, SQLite for mobile).
We do not have a central database of student data, and we do not "sync" your data to our servers.
☁️ How does the Google Drive backup work?
If you choose to sign in with Google, you can enable Auto-Sync. This creates a single
file named preppie-backup.json in a hidden, app-specific folder
(appDataFolder) on your Google Drive.
Because it uses the appDataFolder scope, the file is invisible in your main Drive view and
cannot be accessed by other apps. Only Preppie can see this folder, and you own the data.
📱 Multi-device Sync
Can I study on my phone and my laptop? Yes! By enabling Google Drive backup on both devices, your data will automatically sync through your personal Drive whenever you complete a session or make changes.
💰 Does Preppie cost anything?
Preppie v2 is currently 100% free and open-source. There are no subscriptions, no "premium" tiers, and no hidden fees.

🎓 Which exams are supported?
We provide bundled templates for SAT, GRE, and several AP exams. However, you can create a Custom Exam for anything — from a driver's license test to a specialized professional certification.
